Las Tierras Escondidas

The hidden lands

These are the hidden lands of Aruchal Pradesh, places in the border of Buthan, China and Burma. Bangladesh is south. The tribe villages are scattered throughout the foothills of the Himalayas. One has to go deep in the huge bamboo forest to reach the settler tribes. They raise the altars with interwined sticks. They practice their rituals decorating the altars with eggs, feathers and mithun skulls (given as a dowry; the mithun is similar to a cross of a cow and a yak, its shiny skin looks like velvet; they live and feed on the mountains wood)
